In the seventh section of "night" Elie describes the ride in the train. His father was almost thrown out because he looked dead, but luckily Elie was able to wake him up. The people still left on the train lived off of snow. One day a german worker through bread into the cart and a fight broke out. Elie was 16 at this time. Fights like this happened often and got more brutal. Elie and his father and 10 others survived the train.
This is very disturbing. to read about humans acting so barbaric because of their hunger is disheartening. The Nazis thought of Jews as animals, and this shows how they could become animals because of the situations they were put in.
